Top Twelve Chosen as Idol Tour is Solidified

Find my latest American Idol article here.

The most relieved thing in America last night was probably Kristy Lee Cook’s horse.  The extra money she should make off the Idol tour and album should be enough to get it out off hock, and maybe even pay for a good college education if she uses it well.  The nice thing for the audience is that there is still one attractive female in the competition.

Most of America breathed a sigh of relief last night.  Luke meekly sang himself off the show with his repeatedly anemic performances and Kady Malloy looked almost relieved to not have to stand up there for one more week with a group of people who were obviously more talented than she is.

The biggest surprise of the night came when Asia’h Epperson was shown the exit instead of Kristy or Amanda.  She could definitely sing better than the other two, but her self-absorbed attitude was off-putting.  American Idol contestants must endear themselves to the audience.  She anything but endearing, and going first on a night when most of the contestants did well, did not help her.

The happiest surprise came when Danny Noriega was shown the door.  Ding, dong the witch is dead.  That’s one for the Idols fans, worsters.  You only got one through (Amanda), but she won’t be there much longer.

The low point of the show was at the beginning when Blake Lewis reminded us all of the things we did not like about him, and why he did not win.  If that’s all he has to show, he will be quickly put out to pasture with the rest of the Idol failures (see my previous blog entry for a discussion of problems in the music industry).  All-in-all it was a good night for the Idol fan.
